The year was 2017. I had just arrived at university, and I was looking for adventure. I wanted to try something new, to expand my horizons, to find a passion or master a skill. There were so many possibilities – but I had no idea where to start!

Then, an opportunity came along. A group at the university were looking for students who had written original film scripts. They wanted to help with bringing some of these films to life. Instantly, I knew that I wanted to be one of those students. I wanted to make my own film!

But I didn’t have a script!

The deadline for script submissions was only days away, but there was no way I was going to miss it. So I got to work.

I started brainstorming. I sat down and began to write. And before the weekend was over, I had a story!

Sure enough, it became my first ever student film. I called it The Perfect Story.

Four and a half years and many productions later, and filmmaking has given me some of the best experiences of my life! And it all started the day I accepted the challenge of actually sitting down and writing out a full story.

Today, I’m inviting YOU to accept that same challenge!
